Adrian may be a small city located roughly between the larger cities of Ann Arbor and Jackson, but Adrian is home to three institutes of higher education – Adrian College, Siena Heights University and Jackson Community College – which brings a cultural appeal and diversity to the city. The historical Croswell Opera House is a major attraction in Adrian and is the oldest continuously-running theatre in the state, as well as one of the oldest in the country. The Adrian City Band is the oldest continuously active community band in the country, founded in 1836. For lovers of the outdoors, Adrian also offers extensive bike trails and boardwalks along the river in Heritage Park and Trestle Park. Trestle Park also has a pedestrian walkway situated along a former railroad trestle.
