Enriching the Quality of Life in the Plymouth Area
Every year on the first weekend after Labor Day, downtown Plymouth comes alive with the annual Plymouth Fall Festival. From Friday noon through Sunday, a number of community organizations and service clubs host a full schedule of events and happenings from Bingo Night, a Craft Fair, and Carnival to Sunday’s Chicken BBQ. For many, Fall Festival embodies what makes Plymouth a special place to live - a strong sense of community among residents who give their time for the greater good. It’s that spirit that encouraged a small group of community leaders to establish the Community Foundation of Plymouth (CFP) in 2005.
As a geographic affiliate of the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, CFP is dedicated to building a permanent endowment that enriches the quality of life in the Plymouth area. Since its inception, CFP has awarded more than $182,000 in grants and scholarships that have benefited local residents. Supporting the Michigan Philharmonic’s outreach programs that inspire music students, funding new playground equipment for children with special needs, helping low income students attend science and engineering camps, and funding local art exhibits are a few examples of the ways CFP grants make a difference in Plymouth’s community.
One of the many ways the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation supports all that is good in our community.
