At Monday's City Council meeting, residents voiced support for a Complete Streets ordinance in Lansing that would increase investment in facilities to support walking and biking.

Some 50 Greater Lansing residents helped cram the Lansing City Council's chambers Monday to urge passage of a new "complete streets" ordinance encouraging a more holistic approach to street designs.
If the ordinance is OK'd, the city would strive to invest about $400,000 a year — or at least 5 percent of its state Act 51 funds for street maintenance — to finance features such as sidewalks, walking trails, bike lanes and signage.
