Since last spring, a group of more than 50
Michigan State University students have been hard at work building relationships and spreading the word to prepare for the launch of a new campus news source:
VIM magazine.
The
Associated Students of Michigan State University provided funding to accommodate the printing of VIM’s fall issue.
"We spoke for around ten minutes and showed them sample layouts, our media kit and other materials [and they were impressed]," says Kerry Chereskin, editor in chief of VIM Magazine.
The magazine has also established relationships with national brands such as
OPI and
TOMS Shoes, and local boutiques such as
Jeanologie and
Mad Eagle.
Published quarterly and entirely student-run, VIM magazine will cater to the university’s fashion and interior design enthusiasts while also providing health and beauty information.
“The name VIM comes from the same word in the
MSU fight song,” adds Chereskin. “It means vitality and enthusiasm, which is the attitude we want our readers to have toward fashion and design.”
