Williamston’s Cheryl Miller and Heather Lewis have grabbed
The National Parenting Center's (TNPC) Seal of Approval for their company’s first product, “So Skip Counting” compact disc and companion workbook.

Rock N Go, the business created out of the working mothers’ frustration at not finding vibrant, on-the-go, challenging and developmentally appropriate products to teach math facts and skip counting, says Miller.
The two moms should know. They have six elementary-aged children between them. But besides their own testing crew, the entrepreneurs have queried a myriad of teachers and other educational experts in developing the Rock N Go brand.
“Skip counting” is counting by a given interval such as 10s, 20s, 5s, or even 2s, explains Miller. The concept provides the basics for all four math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Add 11 music genres, including blues, punk, and new wave, and suddenly math is fun.
“This book and musical CD set was viewed by our testers as being very creative in the manner it presented the material. The tunes on the CD were very catchy and even induced some to get up and dance while counting,” according to the TNPC.
Miller writes the workbooks, and Lewis produces the music with the aid of a hired musician and a technical/graphic designer.
