Local businesses are always looking for ways to innovate and streamline
their operations. Having a chamber of commerce that makes information
and services makes both of those much easier.
That
was the feedback the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce heard during
member focus groups in 2009. Based on these suggestions, the
organization went about upgrading their website to make their online
presence more interactive and more helpful to their members.
“We
really dedicated a significant amount of time toward each page and all
of the content,” says Aubrey Zimmerman, Marketing and Communications
Manager for the Lansing Chamber, “because we wanted this website to be a
dynamic marketing tool for our organization.”
The Chamber worked with Nick Ketchum, of NK Web Design & Development for the site design, and the new page is hosted at
Liquid Web. Daily maintenance will be handled internally by the Chamber.
The
revamped page allows visitors to interact with the Chamber’s social
media, allows members to register for events online, and contains
embedded multimedia so visitors can view video clips of Chamber speakers
and hear from legislative leaders.
“Our goal is to integrate
much of what we do into this website and make it user-friendly for our
members,” says Zimmerman. “[Eventually] we would like to have the
website as an additional go-to for Chamber questions.”
