As it turns out, Ryan Doom chose an appropriate name for his business.
Web Ascender became a full time operation just four years ago, the design, development and marketing firm has
taken off in the past year. Between two recent new hires and two to three more in the near future, the company stands to double its staff within a year.
"We’ve been slammed," says Doom. One of the reasons Web Ascender has been so busy as of late is the recent development of new mobile application products for smart phones and tablets.
"It's looking like it’s going to be really big," Doom says. "We're building some custom applications for companies, and we’re looking at a really cool publishing program for the iPad that will allow a company to completely design their own iPad app."
This could be big news not only for business’ marketing, but also operations. Doom explains that one forthcoming tablet application, for example, allows salespersons to use a tablet instead of a briefcase full of outdated brochures. The application could include all the same information, including multimedia presentations. What’s more, the information could be updated from the main office and instantly synced to each salesperson’s tablet.
"It’s going to be pretty intense," Doom says. "We have a lot of companies interested in that."
That interest is allowing Web Ascender’s growth is occurring both locally and in satellite locations. One of their recent hires is a Chicago-area sales representative. Future satellite locations could be the works in the near future.
