A new, 14,000 square foot Habitat for Humanity ReStore opened in Mason in the former Felpausch Express building.
Habitat for Humanity ReStores sell donated and used items that can be used in building, fixing and remodeling homes. New items are usually sold at 50 percent of retail value and used items are sold at 25 to 50 percent of retail value.
“The ReStores are a way for Habitat to generate funding for our housing projects,” says Todd Pierce-Ryan, interim director for the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Ingham County. “You can find basically anything within a house at the ReStore.”
The Mason ReStore is the third ReStore in the area. Williamston and Lansing also have ReStores. Pierce-Ryan says they chose Mason as a third location because it’s the largest community in the affiliate region and is easily accessible from the highway.
“The entire store got a thorough going over,” Pierce-Ryan says. The renovations were finished in April for the store opening in June.
“We don’t have any current plans to expand, but we’re open to it,” he says.
The Mason ReStore is located at 132 S. Cedar Street in Mason. To donate items to the ReStore, click here.
