Christman Co. Planning Green for New 25,000 Sq Ft Mason City Hall

Lansing-based Christman Co. is working on a greener version of Mason’s future city hall and police station.

The company, which has earned national accolades for its work with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified green buildings, is in the early stages of design, but should have a plan nailed down this spring.

The City of Mason wants a 25,000 square foot city hall that can also accommodate the police station. The new building will be constructed on vacant land owned by the city behind the current city hall, which is located at 201 W. Ash St.

The new city hall is being designed to meet the equivalent of a LEED Silver rating.
