Ingham County has made plans to combine its Lansing and East Lansing 911
emergency dispatch centers into one facility. The size of the project
will be approximately 16,000 square feet, though final specs are still
being discussed.
Clark Construction Company has been named the
construction manager for the new center, which will be located on Jolly
Road next to the Community Mental Health Building between Pennsylvania
Ave. and Cedar St.
“The new 911 center will provide a more
efficient cost effective delivery of emergency services to Ingham County
residents,” says Chad Riehl, project director for Clark Construction.
“In addition, the fact that the center meets all Homeland Security
requirements will help ensure enhanced emergency response in the area.”
The
Ingham County 911 center will be occupied 24 hours a day, seven days a
week, every day of the year. Construction is set to being in March/April
next year and is aimed to be completed by fall of 2011.
