First there was the art gallery. Then there was the art studio, then the paint-and-take studio. And now there’s a new ceramics studio on Hazel Hotwagner’s Old Town property.
The artistic devotee recently opened a 2,500 square foot art studio, ceramics studio and manufacturing site to the public. The 1,997 square foot ceramics studio is right behind Haze Art Gallery, between the gallery and Mama Bear’s Café. Haze Art Space is on the other side of Haze Ceramics and More.
“This has been a really great way to expand,” she says. “My goal has always been to be a manufacturing site.”
Hotwagner has close to 3,000 molds. Her collection is broad and she has some molds dating back to 1963.
“Some of them are really rare and hard to find,” Hotwagner says. Hotwagner plans to sell the majority of her molds on the web to suppliers. Hotwagner also teaches classes in the space.
