Just seven days after purchasing the former Mason Jar Pub and Grub, Joe Ghinelli threw open the doors of the new Courthouse Pub.
Ghinelli bought the 1,200 square foot pub in October, renovated the interior and reopened it as the Courthouse Pub. Ghinelli is a former Leo’s Lodge employee and brought several of the Leo’s waitstaff with him.
“They have a great following and lots of people have come over from there,” he says.
To attract new customers, Ghinelli’s added a smoke-free lunch hour from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
“We’re hoping to get a few more professionals from the Downtown Lansing area,” he says. “So far, it’s panning out really well.”
Ghinelli has 12 employees, but sees his business growing and would eventually like to expand.
“We’re hoping to expand for sure,” Ghinelli says.
