Get ready to work those kinks out of your golf swing. Michigan State University (MSU) recently added a heated overhead area to its Forest Akers practice facility so people can work on their swing before the warm weather arrives.
“Basically, it’s a public area for people to use our range,” says the golf course's manager, Steven Ruthenberg. “It’s got a heated overhead area and it’s on the back of our range.”
Ruthenberg says the Forest Akers East Golf Course's heated facility, which is on Harrison Road in East Lansing, has enough space for 18 people to hit at a time.
“We’ve upgraded it so people can hit balls year round,” he says.
MSU broke ground on the facility in September and finished it in February. The new area will be landscaped in the spring.
