Battle Creek native Frankie Ballard tours with Bob Seger

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Battle Creek native Frankie Ballard has broken into the music scene with impressive speed and in the company of some high-profile acts.

The Detroit Free Press reports the 27-year old country singer and guitarist from Battle Creek has been the opening act for Bob Seger on tour and soon will join Taylor Swift for some dates on her upcoming tour.

Excerpt:
Q: How do you keep the audience’s attention when you open for Seger?
A: I think about who’s gonna be in the crowd, and it’s no secret they’re there to see him and I’m fooling myself (to think) otherwise. It’s my job to get them excited, to tease them about Bob. I get ’em worked up, and as long as I put energy in the room and really give ’em everything I got, I hope I get their attention.
