Loy Norrix librarian honored for work with gender and sexuality alliance

Loy Norrix High School teacher librarian John Kreider was honored with an OutFront Kalamazoo #AlwaysOutFront Award in April for his work as the advisor for the school's Gender and Sexuality Alliance. Kreider said they were humbled to receive the award because they know of so many other teachers and staff who have worked to support students.

The  WMed Early Introduction to Health Careers program provides Kalamazoo Public School students in elementary, middle, and high school with a hands-on learning experience that explores various medical careers and the science behind some of the medicine.

Summer food program for KPS students will begin July 7

Food packages providing breakfast and lunch for seven days a week throughout the summer will be available for children in the Kalamazoo Public Schools beginning July 7 and run through Aug. 13.
