The Marinette-Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a new executive director after current director Mary Johns announced she will retire in September. The executive director will work with businesses in twin cities Marinette, Wisconsin and Menominee, Michigan, and report to a board of directors, as well as supervise a six-person staff. The duties include formulating, planning, organizing and administering objectives and policies for achieving chamber goals, acting as chief spokesperson for the chamber, and providing leadership and direction to create enthusiasm and forward progress among the members, staff and community.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in business, organizational management, public relations or related field
-Graduate of U.S. Chamber's Institute for Organizational Management, certified chamber executive, certified organization executive, or certified economic developer designations are preferred
-Background in chamber, business association, economic development or non-profit association, or a senior leadership role in private or public sector enterprise with demonstrated success over time
-Minimum of five years progressively increasing leadership experience
-Board interaction and experience leading large numbers of volunteers is desired
- Preferred skills include leadership, fiscal management, communications, collaboration, strategic planning, resource development, interpersonal skills, organizational skills
-Personal attributes preferred include integrity, political acumen, credibility, inclusiveness, sincerity, ability to act as a change agent, persuasiveness, energy, and ability to work with a team.
