Superior Extrusion named one of top 50 companies to watch in Michigan

Sustainable competitive advantage are words we love to hear when they're being said about a U.P. company. That's one of the reasons Gwinn-based Superior Extrusion, Inc. was named one of the top 50 "Companies to Watch" in Michigan recently.

The top 50 list, compiled each year by the Edward Lowe Foundation and Michigan Celebrates Small Business, is made up of second-stage Michigan companies who are pushing the state's economy forward with entrepreneurial thinking, leadership, innovation and creativity, and of course that sustainable competitive advantage.

"Receiving this award is an honor for all of us here at SEI. It is a true testament to all the hard work and effort by our employees here in the Upper Peninsula," says Dan Amberg, president and CEO of Superior Extrusion.

SEI received the listing for its production of aluminum extruded products that serve a wide range of industries, including aerospace, defense and transportation. The small manufacturing company creates specialized shapes for more than 150 North American clients, and offers secondary fabrication and other services.

Companies were selected to the list by Michigan-based judges in a variety of fields, including banking, economic development, industrial and venture capital.
