Portage Health adds to emergency staff

There's a new face on the Portage Health staff thanks to a recent addition of Hancock native Whitney Brey to the emergency department in Hancock.

Brey, who will also be working in the express care clinic in Houghton, did rotations at various Portage Health locations as part of her post-graduate studies.

"I always knew I wanted to live in the Copper Country," Brey says. "Serving the community that I grew up in is a great honor for me."

Brey earned her undergraduate degree from Northern Michigan University and her post-graduate studies at Central Michigan University. She is a graduate of Hancock Central High School.
