It looks like two
Northern Michigan University students will be getting the chance to strut their abilities as part of the fourth annual Intel Wireless Internship Program.
Seniors Alex Cisluycis, of Marquette, and Nicole Ross, of Sault Ste. Marie, have been selected by Intel to participate in their internship program, which will take place at the Intel Corp. headquarters in Hillsboror, Ore. The program is an extension of the partnership between the company and university that dates back to 2000, when Northern launched its campus-wide technology initiative and used Intel products to power its notebook computers.
"I've become quite familiar with the workplace already and it's incredible," says Cisluycis. "Loads of perks, satisfying work and a very enlightened atmosphere make for an environment that makes you want to work."
Ross agrees, and added that she was excited at being selected for the program, which will keep the two students at Intel until mid-August.
"It was like winning the lottery for me," says Ross. "Intel, so far, seems like the perfect place for an internship."
After returning to Marquette, the students will complete their internships on campus under the guidance of NMU information technology-technology services staff.
