The
Marquette County Community Foundation has a new leader -- but she'll be a familiar face to many in the community.
Gail Anthony will be the foundation's new chief operating officer. She'll work with its board of trustees and lead the day-to-day operations of the MCCF.
Anthony is a Keweenaw native with a political science degree from Northern Michigan University. Her diverse professional background includes eight years working in U.P. financial institutions, and 18 years of employment with NMU, including institutional research, finance and planning. Most recently, Anthony has been general manager for the Country Inn and Suites in Marquette, leading it to numerous industry awards, and being honored by the 2011 Hotelier of the Year award for Michigan.
She also has owned her own business, and serves on several local boards and community organizations.
The MCCF's goal is to encourage investment in the future of the area by working with donors to provide charitable grants that better the quality of life in Marquette County.
