Upper Peninsula Marketing Department has quite the boast to make for those of you interested in growth of small businesses: The company has grown 20 to 30 percent every year since opening in 2007. That's not too shabby, especially since they are expecting the same growth numbers in 2013.
Last year, the Marketing Department saw growth in its creative talent team. It added Jeff Bowen, Bob Orton, Kelly Fosness and Maggie Lawton.
"We made talent recruitment a priority last year," says Karyn Olsson, the company's owner. "We’re taking what we learned over the past five years and further aligning our team to meet the unique needs of our clients and the business community. We now have a well-rounded team of strategic thinkers, graphic designers, account managers, and writers who deliver all aspects of marketing. I’m very excited about the growing team, and will continue to grow it over the next few years."
Bowen brings over five years of advertising experience to the company. He is a 2007 graduate of the University of Maine where he earned a master's degree in mass communication. Orton has over 30 years of creative experience in print, publications, graphic arts, layout and design. Fosness is a writer who honed her skills for eight years at the Daily Mining Gazette newspaper. Lawton has healthcare and sales experience, making her ideal for the Marketing Department's health-focused clients.
