LSCP gets final economic development accreditation

It's been a long process and eagerly awaited, but the Lake Superior Community Partnership received the news that it's been named an Accredited Economic Development Organization through the International Economic Development Council.

The accreditation makes LSCP one of 29 such organizations, quite a rare honor.

"I would like to congratulate Amy Clickner, Lois Ellis and the entire LSCP staff for being recognized as an Accredited Economic Development Organization by The International Economic Development Council," says Tom Edmark, chairman of the Lake Superior Community Partnership. "This accreditation is one of 29 nationally and is a testament to the professionalism, commitment and effort put forth by the LSCP in becoming the leading economic development organization in our region."

Congratulations from local officials and even Michigan's governor poured in to the partnership along with the announcement.

The LSCP went through an extensive peer review process to earn the designation, and will be required to maintain the status through continual documentation and site visits every few years from the accrediting committee.
