Library Pub in Houghton revamps lunch menu

If you're up in Houghton and you're looking for something new and refreshing to sink your teeth into, you may want to consider stopping off at the Library Restaurant and Brew Pub.

Wait a minute--they've been around for quite some time, haven't they?

Sure, but their new menu hasn't. Chef Eric Karvonnen has come up with some inspired lunch dishes to get your taste buds dancing around and happy to have you as their owner.

Some of the items on the menu include appetizers like pan-seared Ahi tuna, sweet potato fries and pork pot stickers or inspired salads like the cranberry-chicken (also available as a sandwich!), the strawberry spinach salad or the apple harvest salad. They even have a brand new couscous salad for you to try.

Their sandwich menu continues to be the bulk of their offerings and includes roast beef, corned beef or turkey selections, including a James Beard Reuben that is a triple decker with corned beef and coleslaw on the bottom and turkey and Swiss cheese on top.

They also have other selections such as a beef short rib sandwich, their famous Library cheese steak, a shrimp poor boy and vegetarian selections like eggplant parmesan and a portabella mushroom sub.

But the biggest addition is the revamped burger menu: 13 to pick from including a Kobe Beef half-pound Chef's Burger made with Wisconsin-aged cheddar, bacon, béarnaise mayo and spring greens. Or try the Caprese Burger with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil and a balsamic glaze, or the cabernet burger, with cabernet reduction, caramelized onions and sautéed mushrooms. There are vegetarian and turkey burgers available, too.
