The doors are opening and the hiring is happening at downtown Marquette's lakeshore restaurant,
L'Attitude.
The restaurant on the corner of East Washington and Lakeshore closed temporarily in March, after cutting down to five days a week earlier in the winter. Then, it announced it would be open to private events only through the end of April.
Now, the L'Attitude Facebook page says it will re-open in mid-May with a new menu, new approach "and many changes that we are confident you will both enjoy and appreciate," in a message from the new management.
Also in the post was news of jobs available in the downtown restaurant scene; L'Attitude will hire a new slate of positions, including management, wait staff, bartenders, cooks, dishwashers, prep, bussers, hosts and maintenance. Training will take place before opening, and new service standards will be set, according to L'Attitude.
According to
Word on the Street's Brian Cabell, the new management consists of restauranteur Joe Constance and general manager Jill Hayes, who will be the managing partner. L'Attitude is owned by Steve Nagelkirk, but Nagelkirk will be stepping away from the restaurant to focus on his landscaping business, writes Cabell.
Constance and Hayes' vision for the new L'Attitude includes a small-plate focused menu, a wide selection of hand-crafted drinks, wines and beers, and a casual, lakeside atmosphere.
The restaurant is located at 105 East Washington Street in Marquette.
