A Keweenaw-based production company called
Early Spring Production is seeking some help from the crowd to get their first feature film up and running.
The film, titled Mutt, focuses on a half-Finnish, half-Native American woman in Houghton who is trying to find her place among the two cultures.
The film's cast is made up of students and community members and the filming for the movie is finished. Now, the production company is turning to Indiegogo, a crowd-funding website, to seek assistance in carrying the project through post-production.
The fundraising goal is modest, asking for $1,000 with a deadline of January 11.
Beyond helping out an Upper-Peninsula-based company, backers will also be able to pick up a variety of rewards for helping out, ranging from tickets to the premier of the movie to a copy of the DVD and more.
