If you're in Houghton and looking for a place to grab a bite to eat and maybe some Starbucks coffee to go with it, you should head over to the Coaches Corner at
Michigan Technological University, which is open to both students and the public.
At the Coaches Corner, you can snag a variety of food like typical sandwiches and salads, but you can also get your Starbucks fix. It's the only public Starbucks in the Upper Peninsula outside of Marquette and Mackinac Island.
You can find Coaches Corner in the lobby of the Student Development Complex and snag some baked goods, snacks and espresso, among others.
For convenience, there is 15-minute curbside parking from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. just outside of the complex, and three-hour parking nearby that is completely free. The café is open Monday through Friday until 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. It will also be open during Michigan Tech sporting events.
