Bay College deepens commitment to sustainability

Bay College has made it clear that they are committed to sustainability with their recent membership into the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in higher Education.

The college will receive support through their membership in advancing its sustainability initiatives throughout the institution and in the community.

"Bay college is committed to reducing its carbon footprint by reducing waste, reducing power consumption, planting trees, and implementing cost effective green solutions," says Christine Williams, chair of Bay's Green Team. " We care about our environment and the impact we have on it and we'll take the necessary steps to modify our activities to make more conscientious choices. We're also committed to involving our community in this process."

AASHE enables higher education institutions to meet sustainability goals by providing specialized resources, professional development, and a network of peer support. Membership covers every individual at an institution, so the entire campus community can take advantage of member benefits.

AASHE is an association of colleges and universities that are working to create a sustainable future. Its mission is to empower higher education to lead the sustainability transformation.
