Marquette's Hockey Central has new owners, name and location

If you're involved in hockey at all in the Upper Peninsula then you've no doubt been to Marquette more than a couple of times to participate in the sport. And while you were there, you likely visited or heard about Hockey Central.

The business, which is located on West Washington Street, is one of the few locations in the Upper Peninsula dedicated nearly entirely to the sport of hockey and one of the few places in Marquette where you can get your skates sharpened.

Well, Hockey Central now has some new owners and a new name. Scott and Kasha Nevenhoven and Dan and Katie Beerman purchased the business from Bill and Alana Kiple and have renamed it Superior Hockey

The store is also getting a new location -- Lakeview Arena, which will place it much closer to where most of the hockey is played in Marquette.
