Steinhaus Market has officially opened in Marquette in the former location of the Union Grill on U.S. 41/South Front Street.
Owned by Anthony Reynolds, the German and European-inspired restaurant celebrated its opening in September with the help of the Lake Superior Community Partnership.
The market, related to the Das Steinhaus restaurant in downtown Marquette, aims to recreate an old-world food tradition similar to a village Metzgerei or butcher-shop feel, according to the owners. The Steinhaus Market includes a full-service restaurant, a beer garden and a delicatessen with a wide array of sausages, meats, specialty cheese, wines and beers, and other prepared dishes as well as specialty ingredients and accompaniments.
