The Sault Health Adolescent Care Center recently celebrated an open house to showcase the new clinic to the public.
The SHACC, located at the Sault Area High School, is a program of the
Chippewa County Health Department. It provides a full range of services including health care for chronic and acute disorders, physicals, immunizations, counseling and education. The SHACC has three employees with a clerical/outreach worker, a nurse practitioner and a counselor.
In addition to its other services, the clinic is expecting to be able to provide oral health services to students as early as January.
No child who attends Sault High, Malcolm or Sault Middle school will be denied a service and Medicaid is accepted at the SHACC, as are other insurances.
