The Third Street location of
River Valley Bank in Marquette is under construction, after a new groundbreaking ceremony was held to commemorate the construction.
The bank is putting about $750,000 into the 1101 North Third Street branch, and it'll be closed until at least mid-November to allow for renovations. River Valley's Washington Street branch is still open to serve Marquette customers.
Bank president and CEO Todd Nagel says the renovation of the branch is driven by a strong Third Street business district.
"The 3rd Street District is such an essential part of the economy in Marquette we felt strongly about re-investing some of our capital in this market," he says.
River Valley Bank has 16 branches throughout the Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin.
