A bright idea is coming to downtown Ishpeming this holiday season. Artist's co-op
Rare Earth Goods is planning a Dec. 1 opening at 200 E. Division Street.
Based on a cooperative model, Rare Earth is welcoming artists and vendors who want to become co-op members. There also are possibilities for displaying and selling artwork without being a co-op member.
Local arts and crafts are the backbone of the co-op, which also includes fresh, local produce, natural foods and farmer's market items.
Music also is part of the aesthetic at Rare Earth, which is hosting an open mic and musician's corner each Thursday evening. Art and craft classes also will be offered.
To find out more, you can always visit Rare Earth for its grand opening, scheduled for Dec. 1 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with raffles, giveaways, food and drinks.
