After a year in business,
Posh Boutique in Laurium is still going strong, bringing original women's fashion to the small Copper Country town thanks to owner Amy Schneiderhan.
On Hecla Street, the boutique is located right next door to Schneiderhan's other business, Salon 1281. It first opened in April of 2011, carrying accessories, women's clothing, and a few home décor items, a niche market Schneiderhan saw lacking in the surrounding stores in the Keweenaw.
Since then, the small boutique has been home to a spring fashion show and continues to add new accessories, clothing and other items on a regular basis. Schneiderhan changed the inventory regularly, including purses, jewelry, hats and scarves.
And of course, if shoppers need a whole new look to go with their new outfit from Posh, they can just walk right through the door to Salon 1281, which does everything from facials and haircuts to massages and tanning. In all, Schneiderhan employs 10 stylists and staffers.
Posh Boutique is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday, with limited hours on Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
