P&L Development expands to Upper Peninsula

There's a new manufacturing company coming to Sawyer and it's bringing an expected 10 new jobs to the area when it does.

P&L Development, based out of Lower Michigan's Oscoda, recently agreed with Marquette County on a lease arrangement that began Sept. 1 and will last three years. The company is expected to have 10 new positions filled at the new location by the end of the year.

P&L employs approximately 50 workers at its downstate location and is just about five years old. The company focuses on machining, tool and die, custom machine builds, components machining, design and in-house powder coating.

The company is expected to have 10 machines at the Sawyer facility and 10 employees who will be paid an average of $15-$20 per hour.
