New restaurant Rapid River Pizza opens

The Rapid River Grill on U.S. 2 has become a pizza restaurant.

Now called Rapid River Pizza, the new establishment had its official opening in the spring and has created a new menu of pizza, baked subs, salads, nachos, breadsticks and other specialties, like root beer floats made with draft 1919 root beer.

Some standout special items include a BBQ chicken pizza and a chicken bacon ranch pizza. Create-your-own-pizza and gluten-free options also are available.

New interior renovations and a new pizza oven completed the changeover.

Rapid River Pizza is located at 7878 U.S. 2 in, where else, Rapid River. It's open each afternoon from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
