New Peninsula Bank headquarters being built

It won't be long before the customers of Peninsula Bank in Marquette won't be traveling to Front Street to do their business with the financial institution.

The company, which celebrates its 125th anniversary this year, has announced it will be constructing a new bank on the corner of Baraga and McClellan avenues. There is an expected completion date for the project in early fall of 2013.

"We’ve owned the 1.5-acre parcel on McClellan Avenue for several years in anticipation of moving out of the iEconomy building," says newly-retired Peninsula Bank president Bill Stream. "When we learned that the iEconomy building was being sold, the timing worked very well for us to proceed with construction of the new facility."

Peninsula Bank has selected the Marquette County architectural firm of Integrated Designs to design the new office. Stream says the project will include convenient drive-up and ATM access along with ample on-grade parking. Stream also notes that the new location on major traffic arteries within the city will provide added convenience and accessibility for customers.
