When
PC Medic and
Martin Sports Apparel owner Scott Martin found out that he wasn't going to be able to renew the lease on the building he had called home for the past five years, he made a commitment--his stores were staying in Ishpeming.
That commitment held true and Martin opened the doors this week on his new location--just a mile east of the former spot in West Ishpeming. He's not hard to find at all, located right on U.S. 41 across from Snyder Drugs.
"I think this was a great move for us," says Martin, who runs both companies from the same location. He also has a second location in Marquette, located next to the Villa Capri Italian restaurant on U.S. 41. "We have plenty of room here, a great showroom and even our own parking lot."
And virtually no down time, really. What's remarkable is that Martin and his employees moved the entire contents of two businesses in a single day. They spent an extra day getting everything exactly right before opening the doors on the new location Nov. 1.
"I'm glad we were able to stay in West Ishpeming," says Martin. "We've come to call this area home, and it would have left us heartbroken to have to leave."
Martin Sports Apparel, which makes custom uniforms, shirts, etc., and PC Medic, a computer repair and sales company, are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
