Outlanders opens take-out service in Marquette

We here at U.P. Second Wave, like so many of you, are some busy folks. What's more is that we're often hungry and we don't have a lot of time to cook. If only there was some place to get something other than fast food to bring home and dine on.

That's exactly how Anne Klingler felt. A busy working mom who had too much to do and not enough time on her hands, Klingler dreamed of there being a local business that would help ease the pressure of providing hearty, home-cooked meals for those who needed them.

Then she went and made that dream come true with Outlanders Dinner to Go, a newly-opened business at 1320 South Front Street in Marquette.

"This restaurant is the solution to my own dilemma as a busy, working mom," says Klingler. "Getting everyone home from school, fed, and ensuring homework was done before rushing back in for the next event was a constant challenge. I used to wish there were someplace quick and easy I could stop that didn't involve French fries."

So Outlanders was born. There, Klingler and her employees make up the food you would fix for yourself and your family if you just had the time.

"All of our sauces and our biscuits are homemade, as well as the chili beans in our tortilla chip soup and our black beans," says Klingler. "The meat is slow roasted here at Outlanders, and use wholegrain products as much as possible. Outlanders serves our top family favorites: chicken and biscuits, spaghetti pizza, buffalo chicken, and tortilla chip soup."

In addition to those staples, Outlanders offers up specials nearly everyday. Each of the dishes come in a variety of sizes, from a single serving to enough to feed the entire family.

"Outlanders serves the food our family loves. We are fast, easy, affordable, and right on the way home after a hard day at work," Klingler says. "We are here to make your life easier by providing your family with a complete, wholesome dinner."

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. from Monday through Saturday, and their menu and specials can be found on their Facebook page.
