Old World Meats opens new shop in Bessemer

Old World Meats, a grocery staple in Ironwood, has made a big move. The company, which is known for not only its quality meats and groceries, but also for being home to Paula's Bistro, has expanded its operations to include a new location in Bessemer.

The Bessemer Market, located in the Bessemer Commons right across the street from Leather & Gift on US 2, features the same items that has helped make Old World Meats a popular stop for locals--groceries, milk and a variety of fresh-cut meats.

Old World Meats has a relationship with Bessemer already, having been responsible for running the Bessemer VFW Burger Challenge, which is a five-pound burger--four pounds of meat, quarter pound of cheese and three-quarter pound of veggies and bread--challenge that asks competitors to attempt to eat it all in just 90 minutes. No one has defeated the challenge yet.
