Northern Life Yoga gets new location, starts fall classes in Sault

It’s only been a year since Northern Life Yoga opened in Sault Ste. Marie, but owner Allie Brawley is already branching out, so much so that the yoga studio now has a new home with more expansive class options.

The new Northern Life Studio for Healing Arts is located at 529 Court Street in Sault Ste. Marie, and will be open soon.

“I am thrilled to announce the location and plans for the new studio opening on Sept. 6,” says Brawley, who previously started up her yoga practice at Kristi’s Fitness Studio on Portage Avenue.

The demand for yoga and other instructional classes was high, and now the studio offers basic yoga classes four days a week in a casual setting that welcomes drop-ins and beginners. Gentle yoga and partner yoga also are among the class offerings, as are Anusara yoga and tai chi. Lee Carlson will be the Anusara instructor; Amy Klein of Full Bloom Yoga will teach gentle yoga, and Richard Askwith will teach tai chi.

Movement, ballet, jazz, lyrical and hip-hop dance classes for youth are also part of the class schedule at Northern Life Studio, all taught by Ashley Corbiere, who has launched the new Allure Dance Company.

“The studio will also host Community Night events, including movies and open mic night as a showcase for creative talent,” Brawley says.

Brawley also offers athletic strength and balance training for sports teams, as well as private instruction.
