Are you a fan of Michigan-made products, especially the adult beverage kind? Well, you should probably take a quick drive to Harvey and visit the newly-opened Michigan Made store.
The business, which is located at 5099 US 41, is in the same building at Togo's, near the new McDonald's.
The store specializes in selling Michigan-made wine, beer, art and more. It is owned and operated by Holly Jo Smith and Brian Elenich, who are described on the
Michigan Made website as "simple folks with deep roots in the UP of Michigan and share a passion for all things USA."
Michigan Made offers up a variety of wines and craft beer. A sample of the selection includes wines from Longview Winery, Chateau Fontaine and Forty Five North, all of the Leelanau peninsula, as well as Upper Peninsula-based Garden Bay Winery, Leigh's Garden, Threefold Vine Winery and Mackinaw Trails.
Craft beer selection includes brews from Michigan-based companies Bells, Arcadia, Dark Horse, Founders, New Holland and AtWater as well as Traverse City-based North Peak and the Keweenaw Brewing Company in Houghton.
"We appreciate that each bottle of Michigan wine, beer, canned goods, honey, maple syrup and assorted Michigan-made confections have numerous groups of people working together--from the farmers to wine makers, to the brew masters and distributors, to the customers who reap the benefits; we are very proud to sell the fine products made in Michigan," the Michigan Made website states.
Additionally, the store currently carries products from a slew of Upper-Peninsula artists as well as many U.P. authors.
