Manor Care in Kingsford expands services

A Kingsford nursing home is expanding its services to offer post-hospitalization care to patients who are discharged from the hospital, but need nursing care or can't go home yet.

ManorCare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kingsford calls their new service MedBridge, because of the bridge it offers between exiting the hospital post-surgery or illness, and home.

"At ManorCare, we feel the best way home for patients is through our doors. The MedBridge unit is positioned to meet this need with clinical skills, rehabilitation sophistication and patient-focused activities, amenities and  education that are unmatched by our competitors," says Cheryl Bray, ManorCare administrator. "When a patient
comes to ManorCare's MedBridge unit, we're planning their discharge home from the moment of admission."

The MedBridge services include medical care, rehabilitation care, physical, occupational and speech therapy if needed, and a nursing team that also oversees nutrition and activity.

ManorCare is located at 1225 Woodward Avenue in Kingsford and is owned by HCR ManorCare.
