Currently, work is being done on the interior of the formerly vacant building. The goal is to have the gas station open for business by the end of this summer.
The new station will operate in the same way the Ojibwa BP in Baraga works. Prices for gasoline will be about the same as other stations in the area.
In total, there will be about $350,000 invested into the building, including the purchase price.
The store is expected to have six full time jobs, with tribal members being given preference on hiring. Employees will be eligible for annual profit sharing.
