The
Island Resort and Casino in the western Upper Peninsula announced it is planning a major expansion over the next two years.
The hotel, casino and golf course is owned by the Hannahville Indian Community and is located on West Highway 2 and U.S. 41 in Harris.
The resort announced that the expansion will include a second championship-quality golf course to pair with the existing Sweetgrass Golf Club, a full-service spa, presumably attached to the hotel or golf club, and several renovations on existing parts of the property.
The Island Sports Bar will get renovated into a major sports bar venue within the resort and casino, and the casino's bingo hall will undergo renovation as well.
Finally, to welcome visitors to all the new changes, the main exterior hotel entrance will be redesigned and renovated.
