Portage Health is getting some nice gifts from its fund-raising foundation, totaling an impressive $54,440 in grants for projects involving equipment and health information technology.
The foundation, which announced the grants last week, is a non-profit charitable organization that was established in 1990 to support the mission of Portage Health. That mission can only be more successful with the five different departments that received equipment thanks to the grant.
Some of the funds went toward buying new dialysis equipment for the dialysis center to continue solid care for the patients. In addition, the Express Care department will receive new equipment for another exam room to improve patient flow and access to care. The Family Birthing Center will be getting replacement fetal monitors with the grants, while Rehab and Sports Medicine is purchasing equipment for the renovation and growth of the pediatric rehab program. Finally, funding will be used by the Inpatient Pharmacy to purchase Sentri 7 Clinical Surveillance and Reporting System equipment.
