There's a new microbrewery inside the
Bayou Restaurant and Bar near Marquette.
Located at 200 West Main Street in Harvey, the Chocolay River Brewery recently opened for business with an official ribbon-cutting.
The opening was timed to accompany the U.P. Beer Festival held in Marquette this September. To start, the Chocolay River Brewery is offering up a selection of five craft beers: Bayou blonde ale, Rock Cut pale ale, Shot Point wheat ale, Breakwall Blueberry wheat ale, and Gitche Gumee black ale. They're working on an IPA, Blast Furnace, next. All of them are created by former Jasper Ridge Brewery brewmaster Grant Lyke.
The new brews will be offered to Bayou restaurant and bar patrons during the restaurant's business hours.
