Vintage. Collectibles. Treasures.
No matter how you say it, old stuff is back in style and Hancock isn't missing out on the trend thanks to the new store
Blast from the Past.
The company, owned by Al and Rhonda McClellen and Denny and Karen Lanctot, opened the antiques, collectibles and re-purposed goods store in the building that used to house the former Crystal Room Lounge. While a large selection of "regular" collectibles like antique cash registers, rag rugs, wicker items, safes and more can be found in the 2,000-square-foot store, the real gem is the local treasures that can be found there.
Take, for example, the collection of Bosch and Haas bottles from the old local brewing companies.
And the store isn't just for buying, either.
"We really want to be the premier buyers of local collectibles," says Al McClellen. "Bottles, old post cards, railroad and mining types of things--we'll pay top dollar for those."
Blast from the Past is located at 308 Quincy Street and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except Sunday and Monday.
