And the snow statue winners are ...

What's happening: Winter Carnival organizers, the Michigan Tech chapter of Blue Key National Honor Society, have announced the 2025 snow statue winners. Teams in month-long and one-night categories created statues based on the overall Carnival theme “Dragons, Knights, and Legendary Sights.”

The winners: Phi Kappa Tau earned the top spot with “In Search of a Maiden So Fair, Our Hero Enters the Dragon's Lair.” Tau Kappa Epsilon secured second place with their entry “Knights and Snow, Wizards Aglow, Hogwarts shines with Winter's snow," Sigma Tau Gamma and Alpha Gamma Delta earned third place with “Dragon Skull lies where Gothic Towers Rise.” Catholic Campus Ministries at St. Albert the Great earned first overall in the one-night building competition with “A work in progress reconstruction of Notre Dame with a soldier taking a knee to show reverence.”

About the Winter Carnival: The carnival has been organized by Blue Key National Honor Society since 1934. The carnival began in 1922 and has grown into one of the biggest annual winter celebrations in the nation. The carnival brings Huskies together to compete in broomball, comedy skits, human ice bowling, and a royalty coronation.
