Shawn Malone spends so many hours outside in the dark that we're starting to think she's part owl. Be it in the middle of winter, the dead of summer or any other point in the year, Malone can often be found in various locations across the Upper Peninsula in the wee hours of the brand new morning photographing the northern lights.
She's pretty darn good at it, too. Not that we are bragging (we are) but her shots tend to end up in places like
National Geographic and on major news websites like the
Denver Post and
MSNBC.
Is all that work worth while? We think so, and after viewing this slideshow, we expect you will, too.
