The local St. Clair Rotary Club is proud to announce the launch of their permanent endowment fund which is the St. Clair Rotary Club Fund. It is a Donor Advised Fund, established through the Community Foundation of St. Clair County.
The Club sought to establish this charitable endowment to preserve St. Clair Rotary’s rich history and traditions of service, integrity and goodwill, while looking forward to the future. Managed by the Community Foundation of St. Clair County, with oversight by the Rotary Club Advisory Committee, the St. Clair Rotary Club Fund will provide for the expansion of current service projects, seed money for new programs, and also enable the club to seize new opportunities that arise.
Established in perpetuity, the St. Clair Rotary Club Fund will support the club’s legacy of service and enable donors to be a vital part of that legacy. It will ensure that the St. Clair Rotary Club and its ideals remain part of the community for decades to come.
Founded in 1924, the St. Clair Rotary Club was established to bring business, professionals, and community leaders together for the betterment of St. Clair and surrounding communities. An affiliate of Rotary International, the St. Clair Rotary Club is a non-religious, non-political organization open to all people who pledge service above self. There are more than 45,000 member clubs worldwide, and 1.4 million men and women who serve their communities, and the world, as Rotarians.
Since its inception, the St. Clair Rotary has enhanced the quality of life for the people of St. Clair and surrounding communities. The Club’s impact has a wide reach, from the provision of food and clothing to the disadvantaged to investment in park and environmental initiatives, as well as support of scholarships and leadership development opportunities for the next generation. Over the years, St. Clair Rotary Club has partnered with organizations to:
- Build the St. Clair Inn
- Expand the St. Clair Little League Field
- Establish Greig Park Imagination Station
- Create Rotary Centennial Park
- Added the Wildlife Landing featuring, deck, picnic table and a charging station umbrella to Centennial Park
- Help supply the Ecumenical Food Pantry
- Support student scholarships and leadership opportunities
- Collection and distribution of socks and underwear to those in need
They also support international projects, such as eradicating polio, and helping to provide clean water and sanitation to people in underdeveloped countries.
Endowments are invaluable in uncertain economic times because they ensure a steady source of income, helping to sustain operations and services to the community. In bright economic times, endowments allow organizations to reach for the stars and realize their dreams for the future.
This fund will support a broad range of charitable programs, projects and organizations that address the interest and passions of the Donors. The St. Clair Rotary Club supports projects in the City of St. Clair, St. Clair Township, East China Township, China Township, all schools located in these communities.
